The Mt Horeb Community Good Friday Service will be held at Immanuel this year, on Friday April 2nd from 1:00-3:00 p.m.  This service remains one of the important ways area churches proclaim a spirit of unity as we gather at the cross of our one Lord and Savior.  Participating pastors, readers and musicians come from various congregations in our community.  Childcare is available during worship, and offering that day will be shared between two ministries:  Our local ministry will be the “Breakfast Snack Cart” at the Intermediate Center.  This snack cart provides food for countless numbers of children who don’t receive an adequate breakfast at home.  We will also give to the “Global Orphan Project”, which is an organization working in Haiti with hundreds of children left orphaned by the devastating earthquake.  We welcome all to come and worship together this Good Friday, renewed by the power of Christ’s sacrifice for us.

Mark your calendars!  The Easter Family Craft Day and Easter Vigil will be Saturday April 3rd. Come and hear the Easter Story, participate in singing and drama, and enjoy various craft projects as a family. Crafts begin at 4:00 pm. Then stay for some BBQ, chips, fruits/veggies, and dessert at the Dinner from 5:15 – 5:45.  The Easter Vigil will begin at 6:00. Look for the attendance sheet out in the Narthex. If you would like to volunteer your time and talents, please look for the volunteer signup sheet in the Narthex and choose how you would like to help. Volunteers are needed for a variety of things, including crafts, dinner prep, and clean up.  In addition to volunteers, we are asking for used, clean baby food jars to use for a craft project. Place the jars in the designated box in the Narthex.

Seasons of Grief - Seasons of Healing Grief Support Group.  Our next session of our grief support group will start on Thursday, April 8th and run for four weeks.  Dates: April 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th.  Time - 7 till 9 pm.  Place - Immanuel Lutheran Church in the Fireside Room.  These sessions are free to everyone.  We need at least 6 participants to go ahead with the sessions.  This support group is for anyone who has lost a loved one no matter how long it has been.  We do find that it is better if a person waits for at least 6 months before considering coming to the sessions but we will not turn anyone away if it is sooner.  We stress confidentiality in our sessions since they are offered locally in our small community.  Call Mary Williams at 437-4810 by April 2nd because we have information that we need to get out to the participants before our first session.

The Food Pantry Item of the Month for March is Tomato Products – sauce, stewed, paste, diced, etc.  The next time you go to the store pick up one or two of these items and bring to church for the Food Pantry.  You may place your donations items on the Food Pantry shelves next to the elevator in the narthex.  Your generous contributions to the Mt. Horeb Area Food Pantry are greatly appreciated.  If you have any questions concerning the Food Pantry or donations please contact Brad Delwiche, 437-3067.

583 Pounds!  Immanuel's Million Pound Challenge team has raised 583 pounds of food so far for the Mount Horeb Food Pantry! Keep up the good work! You can still join us if you'd like. There are 2 options: they'll either donate 10 pounds of food for every pound you loose, or you can earn the food donation by exercising on a regular basis. The program runs until May 31st. Contact Geoff Holt if you have any questions.

Offering Counter volunteers are needed for the 10:45 service.  Two people make up a counting team and then the team counts the offering one Sunday a month.  Please contact Todd Haglund if you are interested in serving in this way, training will b

We will be placing lilies in the sanctuary to help celebrate Easter.
This year we have three options regarding lilies.
• You may order a lily to place in the sanctuary for Easter.  Lilies are $15.00 this year.
• You may bring a lily to place in the sanctuary.
• You may give a gift for World Hunger.

Instead of an Easter Lily, you may also make a financial donation to World Hunger Appeal in honor or in memory of loved ones.  Make checks payable to Immanuel, and note:  “World Hunger”. All lilies and World Hunger gifts may be designated in honor or in memory of someone or something.
