Immanuel's L.I.F.E Mission
Welcome! We're excited about this new initiative. In August 2011, many Disciples of Immanuel came together to brainstorm new ways to do God’s work in our Congregation, Community, and the World. After much discernment and discussion about these ideas, several goals have been identified for the coming year. These goals are exciting possibilities that form our program called
Immanuel’s L.I.F.E Mission
L.I.F.E. stands for Living In Faith Everyday
This special, annual program is designed to focus everyone in the Immanuel family to be purposeful and motivated in our ministries. To accomplish any one of the program goals requires our commitment of our financial support and time. Even more importantly, this program is about all of us, working together to bring about L.I.F.E in Immanuel’s ministry.

Immanuel's LIFE Mission Teams
In order to do God's work in our congregation, community, and in the world, we'll have many teams of disciples offering their talents and time. Browse the list of teams below and find a team to join! If you have questions about a team, or would like to join one, contact the leader for that team. For general questions, feel free to contact the program leader.
PROMOTION TEAM -- Leader: Troy Arneson
The Promotion Team is responsible for continually communicating the vision goals to the congregation through a variety of methods. This team has five support teams listed below.
Website Team -- Leader: Chris Morkri
This team updates the website and social media every week.
Newsletter Team -- Leader:
This team produces a simple event newsletter for the bulletin and website
Printing Team -- Co-Leaders: Steven & Kathy Convery
This team will design and produce a brochure and a few other materials
Media Team -- Leader: Sue Skalet
This team will write and distribute media releases to local news media.
Presentation Team -- Leader: Melissa Munson
This team presents goals at the dessert feast and at commitment services and provides a review at all services once a month all year.
SECRETARIAL TEAM -- Leader: Chris Parmley
The Secretarial Support Team assists the church secretaries with tasks such as updating mailing list, adding member personal information to the church files, developing an e-mail distribution list, etc.
CONNECTION TEAM -- Leader: Lisa Lawson
The Connection Team is responsible for contacting church adults to update church records and share information about the program events. The information collected is given to the Secretarial Team to input in the church files. This team is responsible for building, decorating and staffing an information booth or table.
PERSONAL VISIT TEAM -- Leader: Amy Arneson
The Personal Visit Team schedules and supervises church pairs that visit with every person/family in the congregation. The purpose of the visits is to share the vision goals and get input on how the church can improve ministries. Prayer and/or praise comments are noted at each visit and are used during the Prayer Vigil. The visits are about 30 minutes, informal and intended to build new friendships. Meetings are in a coffee shop or similar place, not in homes or the church.
PRAYER TEAM -- Leader: Kelly Deterding
The Prayer Team organizes and leads a 12 Hour Prayer Vigil. Prayer Leaders host each hour and lead the group in a variety of suggested prayer events.
DESSERT FEAST TEAM -- Leader: Brad Delwiche
The Dessert Feast Team plans and leads the Dessert Feast. The Program Leader, Promotion Team Leader and the Presentation Team are responsibility for the program at this event. Each Dessert Team Member is responsible for contacting a number of inactive, under-active and new members to ask them to attend and to bring their favorite dessert. Involving members not very involved is one of the main purposes of this event.
COMMUNITY EVENTS TEAM -- Leader: Cheri Janssen
The Community Events Team finds area events that will take place over the next 12 months and suggests several events to leadership where the church can be involved. Exposure at public events like parades, fairs, etc. builds positive name recognition for your church and pride in your members. A major free event like a family picnic or concert can be put on at the church to invite the community. A leader will be recruited to manage each individual event. The event leaders will be encouraged to select some members for their teams from their youth, uninvolved, under-involved, and new members.
GUEST WELCOME TEAM -- Leader: John Schmitt
This team welcomes first time church guests and to communicate your church family cares about them. All guests receive a prompt, same day, visit to drop off a special gift from a Welcome Team Member.
PLANNED GIVING TEAM -- Leader: Roger Deterding
This team will usually consist of the church treasurer, the congregational/council president and one or two members with financial planning experience, plus a professional planner that can meet with the team to provide suggestions. The goal is to have an annual seminar where the entire congregation is invited to learn about the benefits of financial planning and planned giving.
