Teams are organized for the community walk for cancer.

Souper Bowl of Caring
The Souper Bowl of Caring seeks to "love the Lord our God and love our neighbors" by encouraging people to give one dollar each as they leave worship on Super Bowl Sunday. Visitation Ministry

World Hunger Appeal

Red Cross One A Week Club
Give The Gift Of Life. The Red Cross is encouraging donors to make appointments to give blood anytime. Just call 227-1357 or visit www.givelife.org to make an appointment.

A new Red Cross website was recently launched at www.givebloodgivelife.org Visitors will find everything from common questions about blood donation to information about receiving blood transfusions to recipient stories.

Please read this important message from Debbie Bormann of the American Red Cross... "As many of you know, the Red Cross is unique regarding our National Inventory Management System. This means that in addition to providing blood products to the divisional hospitals that we service, all the regions across the country are able to help each other by supplying blood products when they are needed.

The Madison-based Badger Hawkeye Region shipped 100 O positive units to Texas recently after a police officer was shot and needed 65 units of type O blood. We are able to help other Red Cross regions throughout the nation because of dedicated donors like you. This system enables us to always have the blood available for every patient in need.

If you are eligible to give blood now, please call 1-800-GIVE LIFE (1-800-448-3543) or visit www.givebloodgivelife.org to make an appointment within the next few days to help build our supply up to optimal levels. If you are ineligible to give, please pass this message along to friends, family, co-workers and neighbors and encourage them to give the gift of life.

Remember, when you help the Red Cross, you help America. Thank you for your dedicated support." Debbie Borman, American Red Cross
